EuLA Annual General Meeting

Brussels, Belgium-The European Lime Association (EuLA) held its Board and Annual General Meeting. The gathering served as a platform for industry leaders to review and discuss critical issues shaping the future of lime production, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

A Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

The meetings highlighted the lime industry’s unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility. Discussions centered on strategies to further reduce the industry’s environmental footprint, with a particular focus on energy-efficient production processes, carbon removals and responsible sourcing practices.

Innovation also took center stage, with EuLA members exploring how cutting-edge technologies can be leveraged to enhance production, optimize resource utilization, and unlock new possibilities for low-carbon applications of lime.

Safety Remains Paramount

Safety remains a core priority for the lime industry. The meetings addressed advancements in worker and community safety protocols, ensuring the well-being of those involved in lime production.

EuLA President Underscores Industry Resilience

“The EuLA meetings in Brussels were a resounding success,” said Tim Van den Bossche, President of the European Lime Association. “These discussions showcased the industry’s resilience and unwavering commitment to sustainability, safety, and innovation. European Lime Association will continue driving lime towards a greener future.”

Chris Davies: A Champion for Sustainable Lime Production

EuLA’s guest was Mr. Chris Davies, Director of CCS Europe. Mr. Davies is a long-time advocate for sustainable industrial practices, and CCS Europe, the organisation he leads, is dedicated to promoting Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies.
CCS has the potential to significantly reduce CO2 emissions from lime production, making it a valuable tool for the industry’s sustainability journey.
Mr. Davies’ participation in the EuLA meetings signifies the growing importance of collaboration between different sectors to achieve a truly sustainable future.
