On the 8/9 November 2023, the Joint Committee Meeting hosted by CA.MA convened in Rome, Italy, marking a pivotal moment for collaborative efforts across task forces. The meeting provided a platform for reflecting on achievements and strategising for the future.
The Committee commenced by revisiting notable accomplishments, underscoring the progress made since the last gathering in Brussels, on 16/17 May 2023. Task forces across various sectors reported on successful initiatives, demonstrating the tangible impact of joint endeavours. From economic milestones to advancements in technology and sustainable practices, the meeting celebrated the collective achievements.
Again, the Joint Committee Meeting emphasised fostering international and cross-sectorial partnerships. The chairs of task forces expressed their commitment to collaborative projects, recognising the power of unity in addressing global challenges.
As the agenda shifted towards future plans, chairs of task forces presented ambitious strategies to be designed to build upon existing successes. The committee focused on creating strategies to provide answers to the challenges across the task forces.
Environmental sustainability took center stage during the discussions, reflecting a growing awareness of the urgent need to address climate change. Task forces dedicated to environmental issues outlined comprehensive plans to reduce carbon footprints, promote renewable energy and preserve biodiversity.The commitment to sustainable practices underscored the committee’s recognition of its role in shaping a more environmentally conscious future.
The second day of the gathering in Rome, attendants have visited a biomass powered Unicalce production plant, in Narni, San Pelegrino region. Our host, Unicalce, has shown the operations sites, explaining the process and the use of biomass instead of fossil fuels.
