EuLA Board and members acknowledge the role of innovation to cope with challenges of climate change effects and embracing circular economy and sustainability concepts. Present in many essential for the economy value chains, lime companies continually work to improve processes and products although maintaining the functionalities of lime.
In 2017, EuLA published the first innovation report on Innovation in the Lime Sector, and in 2018 an updated version Innovation in the Lime sector 2.0 saw the light. It gathers 58 case studies from innovation in quarries, process emissions mitigation, improvement of energy efficiency, innovation in use phase, sustainable production, innovation in the use phase. The research priority areas for the lime industry are also included in this report.
